Tullow Area SCP

Our Mission is to “Provide Support for Young People and Their Families From Junior Infants to Leaving Certificate”

Tullow Area School Completion Programme is one of 124 School Completion Projects across the country. The School Completion Programme (SCP) was set up as part of the Department of Education and Skills (DEIS) DEIS Strategy – Delivering Equality of Opportunity in Schools. It is funded by TUSLA through the TUSLA Education Support Service (TESS) https://www.tusla.ie/tess/

Tullow Area SCP provides support to young people who are identified to be more at risk of leaving school early. Those who are at risk of not reaching their full potential in the education system.

We focus on:

  1. Improving Children’s Attendance at School
  2. Improving Children’s Participation in School (Involvement in Class and School Activities)
  3. Improving Children’s Retention (Staying in School)

We work with children and young people in primary school, post-primary school and in out of school settings.

We offer a small amount of “Universal” programmes to full class or year groups e.g. Transition from 6th Class to First Year or Our Mental Health Workshops.

To benefit from our full range of supports children and young people must be referred to Tullow Area SCP. Participating schools, parents and other agencies are welcome to refer. Once a referral is made, we will assess if we are the right support for the child or young person.

Not everyone who is referred to us will receive support from SCP. We may not be the right service. If this happens we have links with, and information about, all other agencies and services to find the right support.

We welcome calls and inquiries about our service and referral process. You can contact our office confidentially at 059 918 0010 for more information.
